Reception 2025 (4+) - Registration now open!

Due to an increase in demand for our Nursery (3+) places, we have fewer than usual Reception places available. Therefore, we will be holding
some bespoke ‘Stay and Explore’ sessions for children wishing to join Rosemead’s Reception in Sept 2025 (for children born between 1 Sept 2020
and 31 August 2021).

This session will offer your child the opportunity to engage in a range of exciting activities, whilst learning and having fun in our magical setting. It will give staff the opportunity to observe and interact with your child as they play and learn.

Registration process

Typically, parents will visit the school either during an Open Morning or a Show Round. The next procedure is to fill in an Application for Admission form and submit it to the school with the £150 registration fee. This can be done via the Admissions section of the school website. 

Occasional places on offer for Year 1 and 2 entry. Informal class-based assessment is available.

Dates and timing of session

Year 1 and 2 assessment dates will be arranged when necessary at mutually convenient times.

What will happen during the sessions?

Upon arrival at 9.15am, you will be greeted by the Head of Pre-Prep, who will take you and your child through to the Reception classrooms. Once your child is settled parents are invited for a tea/coffee and an opportunity to ask questions. There will be a group of up to 12 children per session. The children will be able to access a range of exciting learning opportunities whilst staff will observe and interact with your child as they play and learn . Part of the morning will involve our Specialist staff teaching some Music and PE and no visit would be complete without snack and a story. The morning will end at 11.30am.

Years 1 and 2
Occasional places being available in Year 1 or Year 2 will mean an assessment/taster session in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 class depending on age. Upon arrival at 9.00am you will be greeted by the Head of Pre-Prep and your child taken to the relevant class. Your child will immerse themselves in the learning taking place for that class which will involve a maths lesson, some writing and a Phonics assessment. Staying for lunch is optional and the morning will either finish at 12.00pm, 12.30pm or 1.00pm.

Number of places available

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 spaces are available depending on current roll.

Offer date

Offer letters will be posted within a week of the session.

Offer reply date

The offer reply deadline is within two weeks of the place offer date.

Waiting list places

You will be informed if your child is on a waiting list, and we will let you know as soon as possible if a place becomes available.
