Points of entry
The standard points of entry to Rosemead Preparatory School and Nursery are Pre-Nursery (age 2+), Nursery (3+), Reception (age 4+) and Year 3 (age 7+).
In addition, assessments will be held where occasional places become available in other year groups.
Familiarising yourself with the school
Choosing a school for your child is a deeply personal decision and one that is so important to get right. Unpicking the culture of a school is fundamental to establishing where your child is going to be happiest and, of course, this is of most importance because happy, settled children thrive in all aspects of their personal, physical and intellectual development. As such, we put on a number of Open Days, experience days and tours at Rosemead. Do take up these opportunities as advertised on our website – we look forward to showing you what makes us so special.
Admissions Process

Entrance Procedures for September 2026
Our commitment to the Equality Act 2010
Rosemead is an independent, academically selective, coeducational day school.
We welcome applications from any boy or girl who will benefit from an academically rigorous education and who will contribute fully and enthusiastically to the broader life of the school, its extensive co-curricular programme, its ethos of inclusion and respect, and the values that underpin the school's operation. Rosemead will not discriminate against children or families on the basis of any protected characteristic. The school will always take decisions subject to its obligations under the Equality Act 2010.
Applicants with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
All applicants with a diagnosed SEND or who require additional support for their learning, behaviour or access must disclose this at the point of application. We will then enter dialogue with you as to whether we are able to reasonably accommodate this need in the specifics of our setting; our curriculum, our facilities and our teaching. We will do everything possible to put in place all reasonable adjustments for children sitting the entrance assessments.
We believe it is important to be open with prospective families about the physical and sensory environment of our School and the academic demands of a Preparatory School. Because of our location, pupil numbers, and the layout of our site, the school can sometimes feel busy, loud, and crowded. For some children—particularly those with sensory sensitivities—this may present additional challenges.
In line with the Equality Act 2010, we are committed to making reasonable adjustments. However, these adjustments must be balanced with the practical realities of our setting. Families of children with significant needs may wish to consider whether a smaller, quieter, and more spacious environment could be better suited to their child’s needs.
We warmly encourage parents and carers to share information about their child’s needs with us as early as possible in the admissions process, so that together we can make the most informed and supportive decision for each individual child.
